Missions Spectacular 2010

The largest one-day mission project for Illinois Baptists is here again. On June 5, we will meet together in three different locations in Illinois: Rockford area (Machesney Park First Baptist Church, Machesney Park), Springfield area (Living Faith Baptist Church, Sherman), and Metro-East St. Louis area (Winstanley Baptist Church, Fairview Heights).
Come join us for a day of hands-on ministry projects for individuals and families. A $20 registration cost will include T-shirt, lunch, dinner and some ministry supplies. Projects will include construction teams, sports camps, health fairs, senior adult ministries, kids clubs and prayerwalking.
See below for more information. There will be a package of information coming to each of the churches from the Missions Development Team.

Dear MBA Church Member:
Have you ever felt the Lord urging you to go on a Mission Trip, but you felt you could not go because of a reason similar to one of these?
•It was too far away from home.
•You couldn't take off from work for an extended period of time.
•It was too expensive for your budget.
•You wanted to go with people you knew.
•You would like to afford to take family members along.
•You wanted to choose work that fit your abilities and gifts.
Well, here is your opportunity to be "on mission" with many others from the Illinois Baptist State Association. We call it, MISSIONS SPECTACULAR 2009, and it will be happening within driving distance of your home church. In fact, there are even three locations to choose from -Metro East St. Louis, Rockford or Central Illinois (Sherman), but I feel the East. St. Louis location is closest for most of our people. Why don't you pray over this opportunity and then submit your application to become a part of one of these mission teams?
Here are the steps you need to take:
1.Read the attached flier about Missions Spectacular 2009.
2.Pray, asking the Lord to use you where you can use your gifts and abilities.
3.Talk with your friends who may be sharing a similar call to see if you could form a team.
4.Select the team and location where you feel comfortable. Talk it up at church because others may be feeling the same calling.
5.Send your registration or a group registration, along with the proper fees, to Heather at the MBA Office.
6.Pray again, asking the Lord to prepare and empower you for this task.
This is a real bargain! For $20, you get a T-shirt, two meals, and ministry supplies. But, most of all, you get to be where the Lord needs you and wants you to be in a place of service. Go and serve in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord! You will receive a real blessing!
